Jim Peterson - Trumpet, Flugel Horn

ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCES: Jim was a featured soloist with the Chicago Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra at the 2000 Macau International Jazz Festival in China. He freelances as a lead, jazz, and classical trumpet player in clubs, recording studios, churches and concert halls in and around Chicago. Jim is a featured artist on many recording projects that have obtained enthusiastic critical reviews in the United States and Europe. He is an active clinician and teacher in the Chicago metropolitan area.
EDUCATION: Jim attended Northern Illinois University and graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree in Trumpet Performance. While attending Northern, Jim played for several years in the great Two O'Clock Jazz Ensemble under Ron Modell. Jim’s first and greatest teacher of jazz was Lenny King, who also introduced Jim to Don Ellis, Buddy Rich, Maynard Ferguson, and Stan Kenton.
